A separate resin figure in 1:35 in a restful position. Take the Waffen-SS marking as a statement about the type of uniform, that is about the cut of the clothing and the camouflage pattern you will be painting. The Anorakanzug is a winter suit of anorak cut with a loose blouse and trousers, on period examples with a reversible treatment where one side is white and the other camouflaged.
Why a restful pose
Resting figures are valuable in a diorama, because the scene does not read as overdone. A relaxed body, leaning or seated, takes a close view better and naturally fills the free areas on a hull, by a wheel or beside a vehicle. The marking pose No. 1 means the first variant of the stance within the line; the manufacturer sells the other variants separately and they can be combined.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the remains of mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and level the faces with a file; sand resin wet and with your breathing protected. Look over the parting lines against the light and scrape any flash off with a scalpel. With restful poses, check whether the figure bears on a base across its whole face; handle any fine-tuning by sanding the underside, not by bending. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue and fill the gaps.
Start the painting with a primer. Build the white side of the suit on a light gray base and leave pure white for the crests of the folds. Paint the camouflaged surface in the order base, larger blotches, fine drawing with a thin brush and finally a unifying filter. With a relaxed pose the drawing of the folds is the key thing: let a dark wash run into the recesses and light the edges carefully, and the movement of the fabric will show. Paint the skin separately, with calm transitions and no sharp edges. At the end bring the gloss together with a matte clear coat and dust the lower part of the figure with pigment to match the base.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
