The largest package of the whole series builds on what individual figures cannot manage by themselves: giving a model scale and action. A foursome of figures makes it possible to occupy the upper hatches and to set the rest out around the vehicle: leaning on a fender, at the front plate or in conversation behind the turret. It is precisely such an arrangement that modelers know from period photographs, where a crew spent most of its time outside away from combat, because inside a heavy tank it was unbearable in summer.
The real subject is tied to Operation Zitadelle, the German offensive against the Kursk salient in July 1943, where the heavy companies of the Waffen-SS panzer divisions really did use this type. For a modeler that means a clearly set period of equipment: the summer coveralls of the armored units, headphones with a throat microphone, light caps instead of helmets.
All the figures are resin, unpainted and supplied unassembled. With a group of four it pays to lay the composition out on a piece of paper first and only then to glue: otherwise a row of equally tall figures side by side easily arises, which comes across as stiff. Differing eye heights and different directions of gaze will liven a scene up at once.
A group of figures side by side quickly gives away whether the builder has a grasp of scale. The height of the heads should differ according to the stance, not by chance, and the feet have to really sit down on the surface: a heel raised above a fender is unmissable from the viewer's eye level. It helps to fix the figures with double-sided tape first, photograph the model and only then decide on the final arrangement from the picture.
