The printed set 1:72 WWII USAAF oxygen cylinder A-4 (3D-Printed) from Eduard adds the portable oxygen cylinders of US wartime aircraft to a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small but rewarding addition to an interior: the set carries A-4 type oxygen cylinders for US wartime aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit and not part of the airframe, but equipment that gets distributed around the cockpit and the fuselage. The cylinders are printed in layers, so they have a smooth cylindrical body with no parting line, and according to the manufacturer they come with decals for the labels.
At high altitude the crews of US bombers could not do without oxygen, but the supply in the aircraft was fixed and ran to each station through a hose. The portable A-4 cylinder with its regulator let a crew member disconnect from the fixed system and move to the bomb bay or to another gun position without suffocating. It was therefore hung on bulkheads throughout the fuselage and appears in period photographs almost everywhere.
Cut the cylinders from the print support with a sharp scalpel and smooth the flat left behind. Spray them in a flat green, pick out the valve and the reducer in a metal tone and add a thin wire as the hose, because that is what turns a tiny cylinder into a believable object. Choose the placement from photographs of the particular type; most often they hung on the fuselage sides near the crew stations. They fit into a model even where only part of the interior is visible, and they populate the space at once.
Apart from the printed cylinders themselves and the decals, the package offers nothing else.
