A resin set of small wicker baskets in 1:35 scale from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. A wicker basket is one of the most universal props of all: for centuries it accompanied the countryside and the town, markets and farms, and in times of war it traveled with soldiers as a container for provisions and materiel. On a diorama it therefore never looks out of place.
Place the baskets in a marketplace, in front of a village house, in a yard or on the bed of a cart, on their own, stacked inside one another or filled with vegetables, fruit and hay from other scenic materials. They work splendidly with civilian figures and soften military scenes, to which they give a human, everyday dimension. They suit scenes from the nineteenth century through both world wars up to the countryside of the present.
Wash the castings and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue if necessary. The basis is a light ocher or sand, after which go over the whole surface with a brown wash that will run into the texture of the weave, and finally bring the individual withies out with drybrushing in a lighter tone. Three simple steps turn a small casting into a convincing piece of wickerwork.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
