German 200 l fuel drums 1:35 from PANZER ART: resin castings with civilian markings for a diorama and for vehicle support areas. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set in 1:35 scale represents German two-hundred-liter fuel drums of the Second World War in the civilian form. It is an accessory for a scene and for a finished model, not a kit. The castings have raised hoops, bungs and pressings on the bottom and the lid, so even a drum standing upright will take a close look.
Two-hundred-liter steel drums were the basic unit for moving fuel during the war. They were carried by rail, stacked in heaps at field refueling points and rolled about on the beds of trucks. Drums supplied from civilian sources carried the supplier's markings, so they differed in color from purely military deliveries. For a diorama they are rewarding precisely because they say unmistakably what is going on in the scene.
First wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw, true the surface and sand with respiratory protection. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. After priming, a base shade lightened on the flat areas and darkened at the hoops looks good. Rust is done by stippling with a sponge and finished with a seeping coat that runs down the side.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
