The Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.F1 is an early version of the German medium tank known as the Four, with a short 7.5 cm gun twenty-four calibers long. A vehicle in this form served above all to support infantry, and it differs from the later versions with the long barrel not only in its armament, but also in the shape of the turret, the hatches and the side covers. On a model it is the thin sheet metal elements that show the most, and a plastic part can only manage those in a coarse form.
It is a photo-etched set in 1:35 scale for a model of the Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.F1. The elements are produced by etching, so they are thin and faithfully trace the outline of the real subject. The extent of the set, and the kit it is intended for, are stated in the manufacturer's instructions, so verify before you buy that the parts match the model you are building.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a firm surface and sand down the remaining tab. Lead the bends along the marked groove over a sharp edge or in a bending tool, slowly and in one stroke. The joints are held by cyanoacrylate glue applied in a small amount. Before painting, degrease the surfaces and go over them with a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Suggest the small bows in the sheet metal sparingly and only where they would really have occurred on the machine; exaggerated crumpling looks unnatural on a finished model.
The set is for modelers of German equipment of the Second World War who want to bring an early Four up to scale-thin details. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
