The basic Voyager Model 1:35 photo-etched set for the American M4A3 tank with the 105 mm howitzer and HVSS suspension is an aftermarket accessory, not a model. It holds brass photo-etched parts with which you improve the Dragon 6354 plastic kit you already own while building it.

With Voyager Model sets the Basic designation means the basic scope, that is the external assemblies most often improved on a vehicle. The set is meant for the Dragon 6354 plastic kit and its parts are designed to that kit's particular shapes. It is not a kit of the tank: the package holds frets of photo-etched brass, which replace selected plastic components during the build.
The M4A3 was the version of the Sherman medium tank with the American Ford eight-cylinder engine, on which the use of HVSS suspension with horizontal volute springs and wide tracks became widespread in the second half of the war. The wide track lowered the ground pressure considerably and improved behavior in mud and snow, while the silhouette of the vehicle became noticeably wider. The configuration with the 105 mm howitzer was not an anti-tank weapon but a support asset: it fired smoke and high-explosive rounds against field fortifications and firing positions, and within the structure of tank units it complemented the vehicles with the 75 or 76 mm gun.
With a basic set most of the work consists of long sheet-metal parts that have to be bent precisely and straight. A photo-etch bender is ideal, but two straight razor blades or a steel ruler on glass will serve. Always bend on the marked groove and in one stroke, because repeated breaking makes brass brittle and the part will crack. Pre-bend smaller clamps and loops while they are still on the fret, as they are easier to hold. Before gluing, lay the part on the model dry and confirm that the plastic original has been sanded down to a flat surface, otherwise the photo-etched part will not seat and the gap can no longer be hidden.
This is an add-on set, not a model. The basic plastic kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
