Artwox Model 1:350 Deck Sheet A is a universal sheet of wood veneer with pre-printed deck planking and an adhesive back, from which you cut the areas you need yourself.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is neither a kit nor a finished part for a particular ship. It is material: a sheet of real wood veneer a few tenths of a millimeter thick, printed with the laying of the deck planks including the seams, with an adhesive layer on the back covered by a protective film. While deck sets cut for one kit come ready cut out, a universal sheet is marked out and cut by the customer according to what is needed at the time.
Typically where no ready-made deck exists or where the original set does not go far enough: smaller areas on the superstructure, bridge wings, walkways, the floors of boat decks, filling in after a modification of the model, or patching a spot that was damaged during the build. It also finds use in conversions and when building a ship in a state for which no standard deck set is available. Please check the size of the sheet and the exact shade of the wood in the information from the manufacturer for the particular package.
The basics are a sharp knife with a fresh blade and a cutting mat. The safest procedure is to make a paper template from the plastic deck first, check it dry, and only then transfer the shape onto the veneer and cut at right angles, with several light strokes instead of one heavy one. Veneer cuts better along the planks than across them. It pays to cut with a small overhang and trim the edge in place along the molded edge of the plastic, because a millimeter of missing veneer shows more than a millimeter of surplus. Degrease the plastic before gluing and take the film off the back only just before you lay the piece on.
The accessory is supplied as an adhesive veneer sheet. The kit, paints, wood stain and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
