The plastic kit Hasegawa 1:350 IJN Destroyer Shimakaze represents the Japanese experimental high-speed destroyer of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
The injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese maker Hasegawa in 1:350 scale captures the destroyer Shimakaze of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The set holds the parts of the full hull, a decal sheet and a base for displaying the finished model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Shimakaze was a unique Japanese destroyer, built as an experiment aimed at exceptionally high speed. She was armed with a heavy torpedo battery and on trials she was among the fastest destroyers of her time. As the only ship of her kind she served in the Pacific and she was sunk in 1944. Her characteristic silhouette makes her a favorite subject among modelers of warships.
Glue the hull and the decks with a thin cement for plastic and seat the small parts of the superstructure with tweezers. For fine elements such as railings, supplementary photo-etched sets are suitable. Paint the model with an airbrush, accent the panel lines and the recesses with a dark wash and fine-tune the natural weathering with pigments. Seat the finished model on the enclosed base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
