Plastic kit Hasegawa Antarctic vessel Soya, third expedition (1:350), the Japanese research ship for expeditions to Antarctica.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Hasegawa captures the Japanese Antarctic research vessel Soya in the form of the third Antarctic expedition, in 1:350 scale. According to the manufacturer the model also includes the aircraft and helicopters that the ship carried on its expeditions. The exact contents of the box (the number of parts, clear and colored sprues, any figures) follow the particular edition, so the details are not stated here as certain.
Soya was a Japanese ship with an eventful history that was converted in the mid-1950s into a vessel for Antarctic research. Between 1956 and 1962 she made several expeditions to Antarctica and became a legend in Japan, among other things through the story of the sled dogs that survived a winter on the ice. The version for the later expeditions was also adapted to operate larger helicopters.
With ships, assemble the hull (complete, or in the waterline version) and the decks first; glue fine elements such as railings, cranes and aerials with cyanoacrylate glue and paint them separately. If a stand is included in the box, place the model on it. Weather the hull and the superstructures gently, so that the contrast of orange and white stands out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
