A 1:350 wooden deck for the Japanese battleship IJN Kongo is an adhesive veneer accessory with pre-printed plank laying for the Aoshima 041178 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory, not a kit. The wood veneer is cut to the shape of the deck surfaces of the Aoshima 041178 kit, holds by an adhesive layer and has the laying of individual planks printed on the surface. On large Japanese ships, where the wooden deck covers a substantial part of the forward and after sections of the hull, the effect is especially noticeable.
The most common mistake is gluing the deck on too early. A sensible order is: finish the hull, fill and sand the joints, spray the primer and the final shade, let the paint mature properly, and only then lay the veneer. If spraying the surrounding areas cannot be avoided even after that, cover the deck with a paper template laid on dry and fixed only around the edge with low-tack tape: ordinary masking tape stuck straight onto wood can lift the edges of the planks when it is removed. Once the superstructure is done, it is worth going over the whole deck with a finger through a cloth and pressing down any places that have loosened during the build.
Long pieces are easily laid askew. Mark the centerline and check lines on the plastic, settle the piece by them and only then press it down. At the bow and the stern, where the deck narrows, work slowly and trim the veneer to the outline rather than stretching it.
The accessory is supplied separately. The plastic kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
