The kit captures the Japanese Murasame class destroyer in 1:350 scale. The model from Trumpeter has a richly detailed hull and superstructures, supplemented with photo-etched parts and a model of the shipboard helicopter.
Murasame is a class of modern destroyers of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, classed as multi-purpose escort ships. The ship is designed for air, anti-submarine and anti-surface defense; it carries vertically launched surface-to-air missiles, anti-ship and anti-submarine weapons, a 76 mm gun, close-in weapon systems, torpedoes and a hangar for an anti-submarine helicopter.
Decide on the hull version in advance. Glue the plastic with thin cement and sand the hull seams. Glue the fine antennas, radars and photo-etched railings with super glue. Apply the gray shades with an airbrush over a primer and accentuate the superstructures and the panels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
