The package brings 315 life buoys with rope in 1:350 scale. It is a small thing that appears all over the deck of a real ship: the buoys hang on the railings, on the walls of the superstructure, by the stairways and along the sides. In this scale a single buoy is about two millimeters across, so making that number on your own is beyond even a patient modeler, and a bulk set is the most workable way to fill the deck.
Because of their size the elements are handled with fine-tipped tweezers, and the work is best done under a magnifier or an optical visor. The base has to be smooth, degreased and the varnish on it perfectly dry. The way the elements are applied differs between the individual Quinta ranges, so follow the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with this set. Seat the buoys only once the spraying is finished, so that paint does not settle on them, and shorten the rope with a fresh sharp blade if needed.
The set aims at builders of ship models in 1:350 scale who want to fill the decks with equipment and move the model from a kit toward a detailed scene. The number of pieces is chosen so that it lasts even for a large ship and the remainder stays for further builds. It serves a warship as well as a civilian vessel and finds a use in a diorama too, where the deck is seen from close up and empty railings would be conspicuous.
In the package there is a set of life buoys. The ship model, paints, glue, tweezers and other tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
