An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet destroyer Gremyashchiy of Project 7 (PR.7) as she was in 1942, in 1:350 scale. It is a new mold from Takom with a detailed hull, decks, superstructures and armament; the package also holds a photo-etched fret for fine elements such as railings and ladders. The model can be built as a full hull or in the waterline version.
The Project 7 destroyers formed a numerous class of the Soviet Navy of the late 1930s. During the Second World War Gremyashchiy served with the Northern Fleet, escorted convoys and took part in the fighting in the harsh conditions of the Arctic; for her wartime record she was awarded Guards status. Her armament consisted of main-caliber gun mounts, anti-aircraft guns and torpedo tubes.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts and railings with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spray the hull and the decks with an airbrush in thin coats, set the metal surfaces apart with different shades and bring out the details with a wash. If you build the model as a waterline, prepare a suitable base or a diorama sea surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
