Universal masking stencils for an airbrush with tire prints, form B. They are not tied to any particular kit; the name gives the scales 1:35, 1:32 and 1:48. The set serves to create a track left by a vehicle in the terrain of a diorama or on the surface of a model. A track is a detail that gives a scene a sequence in time: it is apparent from it that something took place before the scene froze.
Lay the stencil on the surface and hold it down over its whole area, so that paint does not run under the edge. Thin the paint more, lower the pressure and spray at right angles in several light coats. A short motif can be joined up: move the stencil in the direction of travel and overlap the previous print slightly, which creates a continuous track. Use rotation and gentle curves as well, so that the track does not look as though it were drawn with a ruler. Keep the intensity irregular, so that it is apparent where the ground was soft and where it was hard.
Apply the tracks only onto finished terrain or a finished coat, before the pigments. Keep the shade close to the surroundings, as a contrasting color gives away that it is an effect. When a print has dried, go lightly over it with a pigment or a thin wash, so that it connects with the surface, and if need be add a small deposit of soil at the edge of the track. Clean the stencil while the paint is still fresh, choose the thinner according to the paint used and with an unknown material try it at the edge first. Store it flat.
Paints, thinner and an airbrush are not included in the package. The stencil is intended for repeated use; the number and width of the motifs are not stated here.
