A deep orange from the circuit world, that is from the color schemes that had to be recognizable at a distance and in poor light. The shade carries the name of the car designated 934 Turbo RSR and runs in the Number 5 line under the part number N5-C080. It will serve most often on the bodies of rally and racing cars, on hoods and fenders, but it suits warning items, transport crates or paddock equipment just as well.
First smooth the surface and clear it of dust, then wash and degrease it. Acrylic paint spreads badly on greasy plastic and comes away with the masking tape when it is peeled off. Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles to the bottom and unstirred paint covers unevenly.
Deep orange shades need a uniform light ground. On a dark or blotchy surface they darken and repaired joints show through them, so it pays to unify the surface with a primer first. Then apply the paint in several thin coats with a short pause between them, because one heavy coat floods fine engraving and builds up runs on the edges. Thin it with the thinner intended for this line of paints, and the manufacturer gives the thinning ratio and the pressure in the airbrush in the instructions on the packaging. Stick masking tape only onto a fully dried coat.
For builders of car models who want a ready shade for a given color scheme and do not want to mix it themselves. It is the paint on its own, and thinner, clear varnish and spraying equipment are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise.
