Escort Mk II White

The color

On rally cars white appears as the base on which the stripes, numbers and colored areas only then stand out. This shade runs in the Number 5 line under the part number N5-C082 and takes its name from the car designated Escort Mk II. It can be used on a whole body, on a roof and hood and on the small things around a car, from cans to barriers.

Preparing the surface

Of all shades white is the most demanding of the surface beneath it. It will not cover scratches from sanding, fingerprints or traces of grease, and on the contrary it brings every such mark out. Sand the surface smooth with a fine paper, wash it, degrease it and let it dry properly. Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles to the bottom.

Application

Work in several thin coats with a short pause between them. An attempt to cover the ground with one heavy coat ends in runs on the edges and flooded engraving in the panel lines. White needs a light, uniform base, as on dark plastic it would stay grayish even after four coats. Thin it with the thinner intended for this line of paints, and the manufacturer gives the thinning ratio and the pressure in the airbrush in the instructions on the packaging. Work in a dust-free space, because every speck is visible on a white surface. Stick masking tape only onto a fully dried coat.

For builders of car models who want a clean white both as a ground under a color scheme and as the final color of a body. It is the paint on its own, and thinner, clear varnish and spraying equipment are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise.
