The white LFA Whitest White is tied to the Lexus LFA supercar. The name suggests what it is about: the cleanest possible white with neither a gray nor a creamy shift, which holds the shape on a rounded composite body and keeps the surfaces from merging into one. On the real subject the white met dark items around the headlights and the openings in the front grille, which bring sharp breaks into the continuous surface.
The LFA took almost ten years to come about and reached the market at the turn of the decade. Five hundred examples were made and each received a naturally aspirated V10 with a rise in revs so rapid that the car had to get a digital tachometer, because a needle would not keep up with the changes. The body and the structure rest on carbon composites, which was a singular step in series production of the time. The sound of the engine became just as well-known a mark as the shape of the car itself.
It suits collectors of modern Japanese sports cars and anyone bothered by the slightest cast toward yellow in a white. It will also serve well where white covers a whole body without a livery and the tone therefore has nothing to balance it. It is also suited to builds where white meets glazed surfaces and has to stay clearly light even in shadow.
