190E Black is a deep black named after the sharpest road version of the Mercedes 190E, that is after the Evolution II with its conspicuous aerodynamic package.

190E Black is a dark shade from the Number Five line. While the circuit cars of this family go with silver, the road-going Evolution II is remembered as an almost black automobile, on which a dark paint underlined its unusual shapes.
The Evolution II came about as a homologation series, so that the team could field flared fenders, a deeper front spoiler and a tall rear wing in the touring car championship. Only a few hundred went on sale and the great majority left in a dark form. The combination of a rectilinear body and a very dark paint makes the Evolution II a car that slips into a silhouette in a photograph. That is exactly why with a scale model the game is to keep the black surface from going dead and to keep the edges of the flared sections legible on it.
It will be appreciated by builders of car models who need a deep black with a link to a particular car, and likewise by modelers of machinery where black covers small parts. The Evolution II was presented to the public in 1990 and its tall rear wing could be adjusted. Because black absorbs light, it pays to watch the quality of the surface beneath it, as a finished model gives away every trace of sanding.
