A Number 5 modeling paint in an orange shade designated Beta Orange, from a range named after automotive paints.
Responsibility details are not available.
Beta Orange is an orange shade from the Number 5 brand. A saturated orange is one of the colors seen on a model at first glance, and so nothing can be fudged with it: every deviation toward red or ocher shows. The shade is ready mixed, so you do not have to work your way to it by mixing and a touch-up will hit the same tone.
Stir the container thoroughly before work, as the pigment sinks to the bottom while standing and unstirred paint changes both tone and coverage. The paint can be applied with an airbrush and with a brush; the thinner and its ratio are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Spray in several thin coats and let the surface flash off between them; one heavy coat floods the engraved gaps and gathers into drops at the edges.
Orange has a weaker covering power by nature. Over dark plastic it looks dirty and uneven, so a white or light gray ground belongs under it, on which it comes out in full saturation and needs fewer coats. Go over the large areas of a body in one session and at the same distance of the airbrush, so that the saturation does not differ from part to part. Let the finished paint cure and only then lay decals on it.
For builders of racing car models and for anyone who has a use for a strong orange elsewhere, on construction equipment for example. Thinner, brushes, primer and clear varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
