Quinta Studio: a painted 3D interior for the P-47B Thunderbolt 1:48 replaces hours of painting instruments with raised, already colored pieces on decal paper.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from Quinta Studio brings a fully painted interior into the cockpit of the early version of the Thunderbolt, made according to the name by 3D printing on decal paper. The instrument panel, the control panels and the small dials thus gain a raised relief and a colored finish at once, without lengthy work with a brush. The target kit the set is cut for is given directly in the product name.
The Republic P-47B was the first production version of the Thunderbolt, one of the largest single-engine fighters of its day. The fuselage with its spine running smoothly back behind the cockpit, known as the razorback, hid the mighty twin-row Double Wasp radial engine and a cockpit that differed in a number of details from later versions. That is precisely why a faithful rendering of the interior has particular value on an early machine.
Apply the individual elements over a gloss or semi-gloss surface and work in smaller sections. Take hold of the raised pieces with tweezers by the edge and try the position dry first; once settled, let everything dry out thoroughly. Products for softening decals have no place here, as they would damage the printed resin relief. You will unify the final look with a layer of matte varnish according to the character you have chosen for the cockpit, and only then glue the whole into the fuselage.
