An add-on external weight for the propeller assembly of an Fw 190 model in 1:48 scale, prepared for Eduard kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was a single-seat German fighter of the Second World War, built in a whole string of versions and used on every European front. Modelers build it often and gladly, among other reasons because the individual versions differ noticeably in the details of the nose and the propeller assembly. It is exactly that part of the model that is most on show, and a small addition tells on it.
An external weight for the propeller assembly in 1:48 scale, meant for Fw 190 models from Eduard kits. The exact placing of the part on the model and the procedure for fixing it are described in the manufacturer's instructions; follow those during the build.
The part is not polystyrene, so it is glued with cyanoacrylate, not with ordinary plastic modeling cement. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder back carefully with fine abrasive paper, so that no edge is left. Before painting, wash the part in lukewarm soapy water and let it degrease, otherwise the paint will hold poorly on it. Apply thin coats; on a small part a base coat is downright necessary. Because of its size it pays to work with tweezers over a tray from which a lost part can be recovered.
The set is for modelers who are building the Fw 190 in 1:48 scale and want the front of the model rounded out beyond the base kit. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
