A kit of the British twin-engine Airspeed Envoy transport aircraft in 1:72 scale, in the version with Armstrong Siddeley Lynx radial engines.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Airspeed AS.6 Envoy is a British twin-engine transport aircraft of the mid-1930s. It has a low-wing layout, retractable landing gear and a cabin for several passengers, so it was among the modern machines of its day and was used by private companies as well as by military operators. The later Airspeed Oxford trainer, which was built in large numbers, grew out of the Envoy. The Envoy was supplied with several types of engine installation; this kit captures the version with Armstrong Siddeley Lynx radial engines, that is air-cooled seven-cylinders with short nacelles and openly exposed cylinders.
A model of the aircraft in 1:72 scale, supplied unassembled and unpainted. An overview of the parts, the options and the recommended sequence of steps are given in the instructions enclosed in the box.
Before you reach for the glue, assemble the main parts dry and check how they meet. On twin-engine machines it pays to watch the angle at which the engine nacelles sit and the parallelism of the two propeller axes, so that the model does not sit crooked. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the area. Fit the cabin glazing only after the surrounding surfaces have been sprayed, and glue it with an adhesive that does not cloud the glass. Paint the radial engines separately before setting them into the nacelles, as you will not properly reach into them once assembled.
For modelers interested in British aviation of the interwar period and in machines that are rarely met in the ordinary ranges. Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
