A plastic kit of the German heavy tank VK 45.02(H) in 1:35 scale, that is, of a machine that remained only in the form of a design proposal.
Responsibility details are not available.
VK 45.02(H) is the designation of a German heavy tank design of the Second World War period. The VK abbreviation introduced development tasks, the number relates to the weight class and the letter H in brackets refers to the design office of the Henschel company, which worked the proposal up. The draft blueprint epithet in the name is essential here: the machine got no further than the drawing board, it was never built in series and it was never in combat. The number 1461 then refers to the particular drawing under which this rendition is listed.
This is a plastic kit in 1:35 scale, supplied unassembled and unpainted. The parts are separated from the sprues with nippers and joined with polystyrene cement. The appeal of the subject lies exactly in its being a machine that never existed, so beside production hardware on a shelf it reads as a record of where the development was heading.
Because the real subject was never built, no period finish for it exists either. The choice of scheme is therefore up to you; the color solutions used on German hardware in the late period of the war tend to serve as a guide. It is on a model like this in particular that it pays to give time to the surface: the large flat areas of armor will take shading and the highlighting of welds, as otherwise they look empty. Assemble the running gear on a flat base so that all the wheels sit down, and paint it before you close it in with the fenders.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
