Mask set for the Henschel Hs 129 in 1:48 scale helps with painting the small transparencies of a very tight cockpit. Intended for the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set for covering surfaces while painting a model of the German Hs 129 ground-attack aircraft. It belongs to the O-max range from Omask and is meant to complete a kit, not to be built on its own. The target kit is Hasegawa.
The Hs 129 was a twin-engined ground-attack aircraft with an armored front section and an extremely tight cockpit, in which some of the pilot's instruments were mounted outside on the engine nacelles. When deliveries of the original powerplants stopped, French Gnome-Rhone engines were used instead, but they never proved reliable. The aircraft were used mainly on the Eastern Front against armor and also carried heavy cannon slung under the fuselage. Compared with other German types, just under a thousand were built, and their operational use ended with the withdrawal from the Eastern Front.
The cockpit of the Hs 129 has small transparencies with dense framing, so work with the templates calmly and in good light. It pays to spray the area with the interior shade first, so that any creep underneath will not show. Lay the small shapes out on a light surface so that none of them vanishes. Take the covering off carefully, since clear plastic scratches easily, and with dense framing every shift tells on the result.
