This is NOT a model of the vehicle but a set of replacement wheels from the maker Hauler in 1:48 scale. They are cast in resin and replace the kit wheels of the VW Type 82E Kafer staff car with more faithfully executed parts with a sharp tire tread and detail on the rims. The castings are shaped for the Tamiya kit.
The wheels are among the most closely watched parts of a vehicle model. Resin castings have cleaner detail than plastic, and dusting and wear are easy to render on them. The set also works as a quick, telling improvement to a model.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut them off the casting blocks and fit them on the axles. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). We recommend evening the tires out with a matte color and adding dust effects with pigments.
The set is an accessory to a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
