About product

A-26B/C engines, 1:48 (Quickboost)

A resin set of precisely cast radial engines for a model of the American Douglas A-26 Invader attack aircraft in the B and C versions, 1:48 scale. The set replaces the engines from the base kit with more faithful resin parts with fine detail of the cylinders. It is not a model of the airplane but an accessory that raises the realism.

The real subject

The Douglas A-26 Invader was an American twin-engine attack and light bomber aircraft from the end of the Second World War, which served in postwar conflicts as well. It was powered by two Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engines. The B version carried a gun nose, the C version a glazed nose for the navigator.

Use and tips

Wash the parts free of mold release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with super glue. The engines come into their own once they are painted and the detail is picked out lightly. Check the fit against the engine nacelles of the kit before gluing.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the A-26B or A-26C in 1:48 scale
  • Anyone after faithful radial engines
  • More advanced builders used to resin

This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
