Conversion set 1:48 A-4F/H Skyhawk in Israeli Air Force configuration (Armycast)

A resin conversion set from Armycast in 1:48 scale. It is a resin accessory for aircraft in 1:48 scale — not an aircraft model, but a set of parts with which an already bought Skyhawk kit is modified into a form matching the machines of the Israeli Air Force. Without a base kit the set cannot be used.

What the set is for

Israeli A-4s differed from the original American form in a number of structural details that came about through modifications during their service. Conversion sets of this kind replace or supplement the parts of a plastic kit so that the model matches a particular user version. We recommend comparing the exact list of parts in this package against the list in the set before you start building.

Building tips

• Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water first: this removes the mold release residue, which stops the paint from holding.
• Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or separate them with a cutting disc, do not snap them.
• Sand the resin wet and with respiratory protection; the dust is fine.
• Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate); plastic cement does not hold on resin.
• Try a dry fit before cementing and, if need be, adjust the surface on the kit.

Who the set is for

For more experienced modelers who want to build a Skyhawk in Israeli configuration and are not satisfied with a change of decals. Working with resin calls for different tools and methods than ordinary plastic building, but the result is a version that cannot be built straight out of the box.

This is a separate accessory. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
