A resin set, the open airbrakes of the A-4E/F Skyhawk, in 1:48 scale from Aires. It is a detail accessory, not a model of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set from Aires in 1:48 scale makes it possible to show the open airbrakes on the fuselage of the Douglas A-4E/F Skyhawk carrier-based attack aircraft. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified parts of a base kit and reveals the compartment behind the brakes. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was a compact American carrier-based attack aircraft of the Cold War era, flown among other theaters in the Vietnam War. It was marked by its small size, its delta wing and its simple, rugged structure. The A-4E/F versions were among the more powerful standards, the F having the characteristic dorsal hump with avionics. The airbrakes on the sides of the fuselage opened above all on the approach and in maneuvers.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The open brakes and their compartment come into their own with accentuated shadows and discreet grime. Before gluing, check that they seat in the fuselage of the base kit and rework the openings if necessary.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not the airplane model itself. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
