A resin detail set from Eduard in 1:48 scale, BRASSIN range. It is not a kit but a set of American AGM-45 Shrike anti-radiation guided missiles for realistically adding armament to an aircraft model. The fine castings capture the body of the missile and its control surfaces, and photo-etched parts and decals are usually included.
The AGM-45 Shrike is an American anti-radiation missile developed for the suppression of enemy air defenses. It came about by fitting a passive radar seeker head to the airframe of an air-to-air missile, and as one of the first weapons of its category it went into combat use during the Vietnam War. It was carried by the so-called Wild Weasel machines and by other combat aircraft whose task was to find and destroy enemy radars.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, separate the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond both the resin and the fine photo-etched parts with super glue. The missile is usually sprayed in a light base color, and the markings and colored bands are taken care of by the enclosed decals.
This is an armament accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
