A set of pre-cut masks for the glazing of the cabin of the attack helicopter Bell AH-1G Cobra in 1:48 scale, cut for the form carried as the Arctic Cobra. The contents are masking film for painting, not parts of a model. The target kit is ICM.
As long as you move within one muted shade, a slight run of paint under the tape merges in. As soon as a light area stands next to a dark one on a model, however, every millimeter where the paint has run where it should not catches the eye before all the rest of the build. It is exactly because of that that it makes sense to have the frames of the cabin on conspicuously colored machines dealt with by a pre-cut mask and not by strips put together by hand - the template is the same every time and the edge gives way nowhere.
Transfer the film onto degreased glass, press it down from the center outward and check against the light that no bubble is left under it. Apply the paint in several light passes; one wet sprayed coat can push the paint under the edge of the mask. If you fill and sand the cabin, do it before the masks are stuck on - sanding dust gets under the film and makes a wave at the edge. Then take the masks off shortly after it has dried and polish the clear areas with a soft cloth.
