Dead Design 1:48 AH-1Q/S Cobra National Insignias And Stencils are masks for the national insignia and the technical lettering. The markings are sprayed instead of decals being stuck on.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set for spraying the national insignia and the supplementary lettering onto a model of the attack helicopter Bell AH-1Q/S Cobra in 1:48 scale. It does not deal with the glazing of the cabin; these are the markings on the surface of the machine.
According to the name the set does not stop at the national insignia but includes the technical lettering as well. In the world of masking templates that is a substantial difference. A national insignia is large, simple and can be sprayed quickly. The technical lettering, on the other hand, is small, there is a lot of it and it decides whether a model acts as a living machine or as a clean shape. At the same time it is work that calls for patience - every piece of lettering is masked and sprayed separately and in 1:48 scale these are very small areas.
Work on a smooth, dry and clear coated surface. Transfer the templates one at a time, press them down around the whole perimeter and spray several very thin coats; on small shapes the paint runs under more quickly than on large areas. Put a base under light lettering on a dark airframe, otherwise the shade does not cover. Always take the mask off while the paint is fresh, and even everything out with a final clear coat at the end. Anyone who wants to can tone the lettering down lightly before the clear coat, so that it does not act as freshly printed.
