This is a resin detail set from the Eduard Brassin line in 1:48 scale. It contains a pair of the American radar-guided medium-range AIM-120C AMRAAM air-to-air missiles. It is not a standalone aircraft kit but an aftermarket accessory with which you replace or supplement the external stores of your model. Each missile is made up of a main body, separate front and rear sections and cast fins; photo-etched parts and decals with stenciling complete the set, and the head can be assembled in either a training or a live version.
The AIM-120 AMRAAM is a modern American air-to-air missile with active radar guidance, carried by Western and allied combat aircraft. You will use the set for a realistic armament fit on models of modern fighters in 1:48 scale, where it clearly outdoes the basic plastic parts in the level of detail.
First wash the resin parts in warm water with dish soap to remove the mold release agent residue. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw or a cutter and sand the surfaces down with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and the photo-etched parts likewise. A coat of primer before painting is advisable.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
