A set of four AIM-9E Sidewinder guided missiles in 1:48 scale as an addition to the external stores of an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sidewinder is an American short-range air-to-air guided missile with infrared guidance. You recognize it by its slender cylindrical body, its cruciform surfaces and the conical nose with the guidance head. The AIM-9E designation belongs to the older forms of this family and was carried by American fighters. In kits the external stores tend to be simplified, which is why many builders reach for finished missiles.
Four pieces of the AIM-9E missile in 1:48 scale. They replace the pieces from the kit where the stores are meant to be sharper and better shaped, or they complete the armament of a model that does not have enough of them. The exact contents of the package are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene, and ordinary cement for plastic models has no effect on them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder carefully so that you do not cut into the shape; the fine surfaces are brittle and break off more easily than on plastic. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Paint and mark the missiles separately, off the model, and fit them only at the end, when the fuselage is finished and there is no danger of knocking them.
An accessory set is supplied. The model of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
