A resin armament set in 1:48 scale from the Brassin range by the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a stand-alone aircraft model but a detail accessory with which you arm a plastic kit of a fighter. The set contains four infrared-guided AIM-9G/H air-to-air missiles together with launch rails and a decal sheet with technical stencils.
The AIM-9 Sidewinder is an American short-range air-to-air guided missile with passive infrared guidance, one of the most widespread weapons of its category. The AIM-9G and AIM-9H versions date from the turn of the 1960s and 1970s and were used on the carrier-based fighters of the US Navy in the period of the Vietnam War. They brought an improved seeker head and better reliability than the older versions.
First wash the mold release residue off the resin parts, cut the casting blocks off carefully and join them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Protect your airways while sanding. We recommend painting the missiles before fitting them to the racks and applying the stencil decals over a gloss varnish.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
