A resin detail set from Aires. It replaces the simply rendered main landing gear bays with richly detailed resin parts carrying a faithful structure of ribs, piping and rivets. It is intended for models of the Bristol Beaufighter TF.X in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory that raises the detail.
The Bristol Beaufighter was a British twin-engine multi-role aircraft of the Second World War, used as a heavy fighter, a night fighter and a torpedo bomber. The TF.X version was intended for attacks on surface shipping. On twin-engine machines the open landing gear bays are clearly visible and detailing them raises the realism of a model markedly.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before closing the nacelles, check the fit against the plastic parts dry. Paint the bays in a basic interior shade and bring the details out with a wash.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
