1:48 Boeing CH-47A Chinook is an Eduard masking set for spraying the glazing of a model of the transport helicopter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit and not a glued part.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cut self-adhesive masks which, during spraying, cover the glazing and leave the paint only on the frames. On a helicopter of this size it is the biggest time-saver of all — cutting tape by hand for the cabin of a Chinook takes more time than assembling the whole fuselage. The set does not carry the TFace designation, which with this manufacturer means masks for both sides of the glazing. Before ordering, check that the set matches the kit you are building.
The CH-47A is the first production form of the Chinook transport helicopter, with an arrangement of two tandem lifting rotors and with no tail rotor. The crew cabin has extensive glazing: front panels, side windows and glazing under the pilots' feet, and with it a row of windows in the cargo compartment along the whole fuselage. It is precisely this extent of glazing that makes masking the most time-consuming part of building a Chinook model.
Degrease the glazing and let it dry. Lift the masks off with tweezers, seat them in the frame and press them down with a toothpick, so that no air is left under the edge. On large areas it helps to start from one corner and press down gradually. Spray in several thin coats. Fill the inside of the cabin and the cargo compartment with cotton wool or masking putty before spraying. Take the masks off while the paint is freshly dry; the edge then breaks more cleanly.
The set holds masking material only. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
