The F/A-18E Super Hornet is a single-seat carrier-based multirole aircraft of the US Navy, powered by two engines. It differs from the older Hornets in its larger dimensions and a reworked airframe. Operation from the deck of a ship leaves marks on it that are worth attention on a model as well: folding wingtips, strengthened landing gear, an arrestor hook and a surface on which service at sea shows quickly. An aircraft like that builds well as a model with the covers removed and the details exposed.
Add-on parts for the F/A-18E model in 1:48 scale. They replace kit parts where a finer shape and a deeper relief are needed than the original plastic part carries. You cannot build a model on its own from the set; it is an accessory for a kit. Which parts of the model the set replaces, the number of parts and the kit it is listed for are given in the manufacturer's instructions and on the box.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary cement for plastic models does not hold on them; use super glue. Cut off the excess material and the traces of production with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down, so that the surrounding relief does not disappear. Because of the dust from sanding, work wet rather than dry and with respiratory protection. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, otherwise the paint takes badly. Test the fit dry: an accessory often calls for cutting away part of the plastic piece from the kit, and that is easier to do step by step, testing as you go, than in a single cut. The exact procedure is in the manufacturer's instructions.
An add-on set is supplied. The model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
