1:48 Birch dry is a loose laser-cut paper foliage of the small birch shape in dry brown-ocher shades. It serves as fallen leaves and as foliage for a tree armature in a 1:48 scale diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
A loose scenery material from the Czech manufacturer Model Scene. It contains laser-cut paper leaves with the small, pointed oval shape of a birch leaf, colored into dry brown-ocher tones. It is not a finished tree and not a kit: it is dry browned foliage that is sprinkled onto terrain or applied to your own tree armature.
The birch is a pioneer species — it grows at the edges of woods, on embankments, in abandoned quarries, on waste ground and along railroad lines, so dry birch foliage suits scenes of abandoned and overgrowing places well. Thanks to its size the small leaf is usable even where larger shapes would look coarse. On terrain it suits litter under trees, ditches, the spaces between tufts of grass, roofs and parked vehicles.
Sprinkled foliage is fixed with thin white PVA glue diluted with water and a drop of dish soap from a sprayer. When foliating an armature the leaves are sprinkled into tacky glue in layers; on a birch a thinner, see-through crown looks right, not a compact ball. The dry impression is helped by a matte overspray and a fine dusting of gray-brown pigment. The trunk of a birch is painted white with gray and black markings only once the foliage is finished.
The material is supplied as loose foliage. The glue, the tree armature and any further scenery accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
