A masking set 1:48 Caudron CR.714 covers the cockpit framing and the wheels of this French light fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set belongs among accessories to a build; the model of the aircraft itself is not in it. The individual shapes follow the course of the cockpit framing and the circumference of the wheels, so the boundary between glass and finish comes about by spraying. According to the name, the outer and the inner view of the glazing are allowed for. There are no plastic parts or paints in the package; you obtain those separately.
The Caudron CR.714 Cyclone was a French light fighter of mostly wooden construction, powered by a Renault V engine. It grew out of a family of racing machines; it was small, light and weakly armed against the opponents of the day. It is best known from the spring of 1940, when Polish pilots flew it in France; part of the delivery also reached Finland. It entered the fighting at a time when its concept was already falling behind, and yet its pilots achieved several air victories on it.
First free the cockpit of fingerprints and make sure the surface is dry. Lay the shapes on one at a time and press them down with a stick or a toothpick so that the edge follows the frame faithfully. The best result comes from a light spray of several mists; one heavy coat creates a ridge at the edge. Take the masks off while the finish is fresh, not after several days. A matte shade is more forgiving; on a glossy surface the trace of an edge tends to be more noticeable.
