An injection-molded plastic kit of the British twin-engine de Havilland Hornet F.3 fighter in 1:48 scale from the production of the manufacturer Trumpeter. The model offers a finely engraved surface, a cockpit broken down into parts, detailed landing gear bays and optional features. Decals and a color painting guide are included. Check the exact contents of the box against the manufacturer's part number.
The de Havilland Hornet was a British twin-engine piston fighter that followed on from the design school of the famous Mosquito and made use of mixed wood-and-metal airframe construction. It was powered by two Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines in slender nacelles. The F.3 version with extended range was the last operational land-based modification, and it served with the Royal Air Force even after the Second World War, until jet fighters replaced it.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints of the engine nacelles down carefully. Paint the cockpit and bring out its detail before you close the fuselage, and glue the glazing with canopy glue. Prepare the propellers and the landing gear separately. After applying a gloss clear coat and the decals, bring out the panel lines with a wash and add the fine wear that matches postwar service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
