A MARKING masking set for the Do 217N-1 in 1:48 scale from the Czech brand New Ware — kabuki masks for spraying the national insignia and markings instead of using decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cut self-adhesive masks of Japanese kabuki paper tape from the Czech brand New Ware. This is neither a model nor decals: the MARKING masks serve for spraying the national insignia and markings directly onto the surface of a model of the Do 217N-1 in 1:48 scale.
Sprayed markings behave like any other paint: they know no silvering, they do not lift at the edges and they follow the surface detail and raised features perfectly. On night fighters with dark flat finishes the difference is especially noticeable, as the glossy film of a decal is hard to disguise on velvety flat black, whereas a sprayed marking blends with the surface. Over sprayed markings you can also run washes, filters and fine lightening oversprays without a worry.
Measure the positions of the insignia out in advance and mark them with a piece of tape, so that both sides of the fuselage and the wings are symmetrical. With multi-color insignia work from the light color to the dark one and let the paint vent thoroughly between coats. Spray dry, thin coats square to the edges of the mask; once it is lifted off, any shortcomings can be put right with a fine brush.
This is a masking accessory for painting; the aircraft kit itself is not included in the package.
