1:72 Amiot 143 mask is a masking set from Omask for a model of the French Amiot 143 bomber in 1:72 scale. It makes painting the extensive fuselage glazing easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks, that is, an accessory for a build rather than a model. The masks cover the glazed areas that are to stay clean after spraying. The cut is worked out for a particular kit in 1:72 scale, and the name of the product gives which one.
The Amiot 143 was a French twin-engine bomber and reconnaissance aircraft of the 1930s, unmistakable for its boxy fuselage, high-set wing, fixed landing gear in bulky fairings and extensive nose glazing. The design grew obsolete faster than the machine reached its full strength, and modelers have taken to it precisely for its unusual silhouette. It is that glazing that makes the build a job where pre-cut masks pay off most of all.
Degrease the glazing, lay the masks down with tweezers and press the edges with a toothpick. First spray a thin layer of the shade of the frames and only then the covering color, so that any creep underneath does not show. On large areas it pays off to supplement the masking with paper tape or masking fluid, so that you do not carry paint needlessly into the inside of the fuselage. Remove the masks shortly after drying, with tweezers at a sharp angle. Prepare and paint the interior of the cabin before gluing the fuselage, because once the glazing is in you cannot get inside and on this type it will be visible.
