Great Wall Hobby 1:48 Douglas TBD-1A Floatplane is an injection-molded plastic kit of the float version of the American carrier torpedo bomber in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the float version of the carrier torpedo bomber Douglas TBD Devastator in 1:48 scale from the Great Wall Hobby brand. The model captures a less usual conversion of the aircraft onto floats and offers a fine surface structure, a well worked out interior and clear parts.
The Douglas TBD Devastator was a carrier torpedo bomber of the US Navy from the 1930s, one of the first all-metal monoplanes of this category. One TBD-1 machine was fitted experimentally in 1939 with a pair of Edo floats to test the possibility of operating it as a float torpedo bomber. It is precisely this form that the model represents.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and sand the fine edges of the floats carefully. Paint the interior and the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Prewar US Navy finishes will stand out with an airbrush and fine shading.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
