A detail cockpit set for the F-105D Thunderchief fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale from the maker Aires. This resin accessory replaces the basic cockpit interior of a plastic kit with a faithfully detailed assembly: a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, side consoles, a seat and the control levers.
The F-105 Thunderchief was an American supersonic fighter-bomber of the 1950s and one of the largest single-engine combat aircraft of its day. The single-seat F-105D version was the most widespread variant and was used extensively on strike missions during the Vietnam War.
Wash the resin parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue. The interior comes into its own once the base shade is painted, the edges are picked out and a light wash is applied. The instrument panel deserves careful painting of the individual dials.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an aircraft model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
