A photo-etched accessory set in 1:48 scale for a model of the F-35A Lightning II fighter. Metal parts give the model detail that plastic cannot manage.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-35A Lightning II is a single-seat single-engine fifth-generation combat aircraft. The letter A designates the variant for conventional takeoff and landing from land bases, that is the most widespread configuration of the whole family. The shape of the airframe is subordinated to reduced detectability: the edges are aligned into a few directions only, the aircraft carries its weapons in internal bays and the surface is covered with a special treatment that on a model calls for subtle shading of the panels instead of sharp contrasts.
Photo-etched metal parts for a model in 1:48 scale. They supplement or replace the details that an injection mold inevitably makes thicker than reality. The set is intended for finishing off a kit; a stand-alone model will not come out of it. The list of parts and their placement is given in the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with it.
Cut the part out with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by twisting. Make the bends over a steel rule or in a bending tool; try out fine grilles beforehand on a waste part of the fret. A tiny amount of super glue applied with the tip of a pin is enough for gluing. Wash the metal before painting, degrease it and back it with primer. On this type of aircraft it pays to keep the contrast low: an overdone wash in the panel lines looks out of place on surfaces with reduced detectability.
The model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
