This is not a kit but a small resin replacement part of the Quickboost brand from the Aires family. On the Phantom the top of the fin is a detail by which a machine can be placed: the shaping of the cap changed in the course of production, and modelers who build a particular airplane come up against that. This set carries the designation of the mid version, and it is exactly that which sets it apart from the other variants of the same range.
A plastic kit mostly offers only one form of the tip. A resin casting makes it possible to exchange it for the shape that corresponds to your subject, without lengthy sanding down and reshaping with filler. The casting moreover holds sharper edges and finer transitions than a part out of a split mold, so the silhouette of the fin stays clean even after varnishing.
First verify from photographs or a drawing which variant your machine carries; it is the only detail that sets the sets apart from one another. Cut the original tip off with a saw, level the surface with wet-sanded paper and try the casting dry first. Wash the part in lukewarm water with a degreaser, cut the casting block off with a saw and do not break it. It is glued with super glue; fill the seam and sand it back. Painting follows a primer and is done together with the whole tail surface, so that the shade and the degree of gloss carry over to the surroundings.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, as a resin casting. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package. The variant of the cap is the distinguishing detail, so verify before buying which one you need.
