This is a set of photo-etched metal parts for a plastic model, not a kit of the aircraft. The set belongs to the model line in which the Japanese maker Zoukei-Mura released the F-4G Phantom II Wild Weasel V kit in 1:48 scale, and it is built as an accessory for exactly that kit. The metal parts deal with places where injection-molded plastic runs into its own thickness, that is fine grilles, covers and small fittings. Check the contents of the package and the number of parts on the box of the set.
The F-4G was a two-seat aircraft derived from the fighter and attack version of the Phantom II, adapted for finding and suppressing ground radars. It differed from ordinary Phantoms in its equipment for electronic reconnaissance and in the related antennas and covers on the fuselage and on the vertical tail surface. For the modeler that means a large aircraft with a wealth of external detail, where fine photo-etched parts have good scope.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and sand off the burrs with a fine file. Make straight bends in a photo-etch bender or over a metal edge. Glue metal to plastic with cyanoacrylate glue or with a slow-setting epoxy, which gives you time to position the part. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a base coat. On a modern jet aircraft it pays to settle the photo-etched parts before the final coat, so that the transition areas can be touched in.
This is an accessory set, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
