1:48 F-82E/H Twin Mustang is a set of masking templates for the glazing of the cabins from Dead Design. The Twin Mustang has two cabins, so masking with tape cut by hand takes twice the time here.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pre-cut templates from the manufacturer Dead Design follow the frame of the canopies of both cabins. The Twin Mustang is a twin-fuselage aircraft with two separate pilot's spaces, so there is twice as much glazing on a model as on an ordinary single-engine fighter and the masking is correspondingly more lengthy. According to the name the set is intended for the F-82E and F-82H versions. It is not a kit but an accessory to a model.
Almost anyone can manage sticking a mask on, but the result is decided only when it is removed. The best moment comes shortly after the paint has dried, when the coat is already firm but not yet fully cured. If a mask is left on the part too long, the edge of the paint above it hardens, joins with the film and when it is torn away peels a piece of the finish off the frame as well.
Never lift the film with a fingernail. Use the tip of a toothpick or a wooden stick, lift one corner and from there pull the mask smoothly backward, that is, back over itself, not straight away from the part. Pulling straight away strains fresh finish the most. If a slight burr of paint does stay on the edge after all, run a toothpick or the point of a blunt scalpel lightly along it guided along the frame, not across the glass. With two cabins proceed one at a time and leave the other covered in the meantime.
