1:48 F-86F-25/30 seatbelts STEEL are photo-etched harnesses in steel for the cockpit of the jet Sabre in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This small photo-etched set from the Eduard brand is aimed at a detail whose absence gives away even an otherwise nicely built model: a bare seat shell. The carrier here is steel, which keeps its shape after bending, so a strap can drape freely over the edge instead of lying flat. The FE range comes rendered in color, so fine brushwork is done away with.
The North American F-86F was a single-seat jet fighter with a swept wing and the main American answer to the Soviet MiG-15s over Korea. Production blocks 25 and 30 received the so-called 6-3 wing with an extended leading edge and no slats: agility at high speed rose, while behavior just before touchdown grew worse. The sliding canopy lets the cockpit be looked into well, so work inside pays off.
Separate the parts with a scalpel right at the gate and level the burr with a fine file. Make the bends over the sharp edge of a rule and shape the buckles with tweezers whose jaws have been dressed. Metal holds most reliably on a spot of cyanoacrylate glue, but wipe any excess away at once, or it will dull the color. Seat it only after you have tested dry whether the straps collide with the frame.
The contents are the cockpit fittings alone; the plastic aircraft is obtained separately.
